Test connectors are essential for testing the proper operation of circuit boards and functional components used in various electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, notebook computers, communication modules, and in-vehicle infotainment boards.
In addition, there is increasing demand for high-frequency testing in communications, especially for measuring instruments and base stations, to evaluate the performance of 5G and upcoming 6G technologies.

Hirose Electric has launched the HK-LR-SR2-A 2.92 mm RF test connector, compatible with frequencies up to 43.5 GHz, surpassing the usual 40 GHz limit for 2.92 mm connectors. The connector features a center terminal that makes contact with the circuit board using a screw-in mechanism.
Two additional versions are available: the HK-R-SR2-SA (end-launch type), which mounts horizontally, and the HK-R-SR2-SA (vertical launch type), which mounts vertically to the circuit board. Both versions support frequencies up to 43.5 GHz, catering to various customer requirements.

Features

・MIL-compliant 2.92 mm coaxial connector (MIL-STD-348B)
・Supports frequencies up to 43.5 GHz
・Screw mounting method for secure board connection.
・Complies with RoHS2 standards.

Applications

This connector can be solderlessly mounted on evaluation boards for components requiring millimeter-wave and high-speed transmission. Applications include transmission measurement, wireless communication devices, measuring instruments, high-frequency modules, power amplifiers, high-speed routers, switches, broadcasting equipment, and other high-frequency technologies. It offers reliable high-frequency performance across a broad temperature range.
